A Blessed Birth

The time of darkness touched by Winter’s snow
Beneath our feet the frozen Earth awaits
The Sun’s rebirth upon the solstice night,
In ice and snow she’s warmed by mystic fates,
And as before the Winter’s Queen draws near,
A cloak of white across her shoulders bare,
Her body arched in labours living throes,
The moonlight caught in strands of frosted hair.

As nights are growing longer now,
so turns the Wheel to hallowed bough.
For her glory and our delight,
when Mother Earth is dressed in white.
While cross the sky stars slowly creep

O sweet white bloom blushing through snow,


You gently kiss the north winds as they
pass,


Whispering to winter ‘it’s time to go’,


From your bluey-green leaves like blades of

Beyond My Eyes

As night-time closed around my mind,
I watched a lady rise above,
Within her face beauty defined.

Lady of night who stole my heart,

As drifting clouds made their depart.
